Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy involves placing a camera inside the abdominal cavity, and visualising the pelvic and abdominal organs.

Procedure:

Here, first a small 0.5 to 1cms cut is created and a camera is inserted into abdominal cavity. As per need, another 1 to 3 small 0.5cms cuts are placed and laparoscopy instruments are placed inside to perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

Who needs Laparoscopy?
  • Diagnostic laparoscopy for Tubal patency and to detect other abnormalities of Uterus, ovaries, tubes etc
  • For ovarian drilling in PCOS
  • Diagnosis and treatment in Endometriosis
  • For fibroid removal
  • For Ovarian cysts
  • For Ectopic pregnancy surgeries
  • For family planning / Tubectomy

Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is visualisation of the uterine cavity by passing a camera into the uterus.

Procedure:

Here, under short general anaesthesia, a camera/endoscope is passed through the cervix into the uterine cavity and uterine cavity is visualized for any abnormalities. If any abnormalities such as polyp, adhesions, etc are found, the same can be treated at the same time. It can be both diagnostic and therapeutic.

Who needs Hysteroscopy?
  • For diagnostic Hysteroscopy before IVF/ICSI when indicated
  • To remove Uterine polyps
  • To remove Uterine adhesions
  • For Uterine submuscosal fibroids
  • For Congenital Uterine anomalies
  • For cases of abnormal Uterine bleeding
  • For post-menopausal bleeding
